A 2011 graduate of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New Jersey-based Alexa Blair graduated with a BS in Production Management and Related Industries. As a student at FIT, Alexa Blair distinguished herself by maintaining an academic record that placed her on the dean’s list each year. While an undergraduate student, she submitted designs that were selected for presentation in the Addressing Psoriasis fashion show hosted by Tim Gunn. The show provided significant exposure for her work. Ms. Blair gained additional experience in the industry in 2009 as a coordinator and creator for Fashion for a Cure, a fashion show that benefited the American Cancer Society.
Based near Wayne, NJ, Alexa Blair works as an employee of Randa Accessories and designs products for Nine West, a popular brand of accessories for women. She also participates in design development for other brands, including Diane von Furstenberg, Liz Claiborne, and Anne Klein. Her responsibilities include liaising with manufacturing facilities to monitor production schedules, sample products, establish reliable material sources, and maintain communication. Additionally, she has been instrumental in developing design concept presentations, and she attends presentations and product review meetings with brand representatives.
Ms. Blair is proficient at using traditional productivity software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. She also holds experience with applications of specific utility in her field, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Photoshop, as well as computer-aided design (CAD) and three-dimensional computer rendering applications.
In addition to pursuing a broad range of interests that include fashion design and fields related to her chosen career, Ms. Blair enjoys activities such as drawing and painting. A music aficionado, she attends concerts in and around the Wayne, NJ, area and plays the guitar and piano herself.
